Bathroom vanity lighting is much different than other bathroom lighting. In general, people use softer lights for bathroom vanity lighting than in the rest of the bathroom. It not only brings out the décor of the bathroom vanity, but it also creates a different mood in the entire bathroom. You can choose from a number of different bathroom lighting options when you are choosing your entire décor. You best bet is to plan the bathroom lighting around the bathroom vanity lighting. It will create a mood throughout the entire bathroom. Or, if you prefer, you can choose your bathroom vanity lighting separate from the rest of the bathroom lighting if the bathroom is big enough.
Your bathroom vanity lighting can vary from bathroom to bathroom, and you can mix and match different lighting themes to see which ones work best in your bathroom. You also have the option of making your bathroom vanity lighting be a part of the vanity, or you can focus some of the bathroom lighting on the vanity, for simpler installation. There are many ways to create different moods in the bathroom through your bathroom lighting options. You can always test out different ideas before you decide to go with any particular one.

I remember my grandmother’s kitchen table lamp. It was fun to play with. You could pull it down to where you wanted the light and it would stay there. Then, you could push it back up toward the ceiling, out of the way, and it would stay there, too! That was my first experience with lighting that could move to where it would serve us best, then retract to be out of the way.
Lighting fixtures have come a long way from that early experience, but the original design has not been lost, because you can still get that fundamental up-and-down functionality in ceiling lamps. (See Architects and Heroes.)
Another way to have lighting serve you is using swing-away lamps. These attach to a nearby wall or cabinet and swing out over your work space or entertainment area. You don’t need to take up valuable floor space and little ones won’t trip over it or get caught in the power cord.
